ORIGIN AND DEVELOPMENT

Conventional water-based gels are formulated in such a way so they may sit on shelves for months or years on end. Development for GOON FUEL indicated that this attributed to severe limitations on texture, portability, ingredient load, and ability to maintain a usable slip.
GOON FUEL was developed by changing the format rather than adding complexity to the formula.
Multiple formulations were evaluated for slip longevity, texture, easy of hydration, viscosity, and ease of cleaning. The strongest results were achieved when water was removed from the equation, only to be added immediately before use.
This resulted in a shelf-stable concentrated base that hydrates into a rich, extremely slippery water-based gel that maintains its slip. Internal comparisons against other water-based products showed our resulting final gel maintained usable slip for longer while producing a lighter, less artificial feel.
The concentrate format delivers several key performance and use advantages:
- Rich gel structure with fluid slip;
- User-controlled thickness and temperature;
- Sustained wetness and reduced need for reapplication;
- Minimal residue and a lightweight feel;
- Compact storage with substantially greater finished volume after hydration.
GOON FUEL is not a conventional gel placed in a smaller package. The concentrate format is the functional basis of the product.
This design provides greater control, performance, and a more refined sensory result than conventional water-based products evaluated during its development.
Comparative statements are based on internal development evaluations of selected water-based products. Results may vary depending on preparation and use.
